Announcing you have found Christ... Encouragement for new believers

Announcing to the world you have accepted Jesus can be wonderful and a little daunting. 

Maybe you are a former atheist like me, you told everyone how steadfast you were in a non-belief that you know coming to Christ will seem odd to those who know you. Basically, you need to let your pride go and allow the Lord to lead you.  

When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. 

Psalm 10:4 

 You may be met with confusion, possibly even hostility or ridicule. You might even hear "I told you so." Do not get defensive or angry.

A soft answer turns away wrath,
    but a harsh word stirs up anger. 

Proverbs 15:1 

 However your family and friends may react, remember that the Lord is with you.

 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
